Allen Iverson is one of the most impactful players to ever pick up a basketball.
As a result, the Philadelphia 76ers legend is uniquely qualified to assess past, present and future players in a way few others are.
In recent days Iverson’s analysis of the best ballhandler in NBA history caused a major stir.
This week he made headlines once more – this time by offering his brutally honest assessment of Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic.
“You can go there, but I don’t even wanna go there,” Iverson said.
“The 73 (points in one game), goes without saying. I’m talking about his style. It’s streetball mixed in. He plays the way he plays. He plays like a black guy. That man got style. He got swag. He’s so cool out there man, everything is slow, major moves. The wet ball, he shoots the blood out of that ball.”
Iverson heaping this much praise on Doncic isn’t surprising. He always keeps it real when it comes to other ballers.
Be it when he named his five top players of all time, his confession about his biggest career regret or his brutally honest take on Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James – Iverson always keeps it 100.
This was just the latest example of that.

Plus, Iverson has always been a fan of Doncic’s game.
“One of today’s players, I would want it to be Luka [Doncic],” Iverson said on an episode of “Headliners with Rachel Nichols” not too long ago.
“Because he’s a big point guard. I can still play the two. He can guard the two, I can guard the one. I think it’d just be deadly.”
Iverson has a ton of respect for Doncic as an all-time great already, and Doncic probably feels the same way about Iverson.
