How Arch Manning Feels About Alabama, Nick Saban Nowadays
Arch Manning is the most highly-touted high school football prospect in the country. The mania surrounding his recruitment has reached unparalleled levels.
At one point in time, Alabama was viewed as a legitimate favorite to land the youngster.
Between the way his family spoke of Nick Saban and the fact that the Crimson Tide always found itself in the conversation for Arch’s services, it seemed like a match made in heaven.
Unfortunately, the warm feelings have cooled in recent months.
“When talking to different sources close to this recruitment, I have started to hear more about Georgia and Texas,” college football insider Chad Simmons wrote last week. “Alabama is still Alabama — and Nick Saban, Bill O’Brien and Pete Golding have all been involved. But there has been a little more chatter around the Bulldogs and Longhorns in recent weeks.”
Moreover, Alabama’s odds of attaining Arch have been described as “fading” in some circles.

It’s unclear what has changed. Obviously the topic of Saban’s coaching future and his longevity have become increasingly common as of late. There’s a reason folks are discussing the four most likely candidates to replace him.
But Saban hasn’t indicated that he is going anywhere just yet. So clearly the fit is just off or something.
As things presently stand, two programs are viewed as the favorites to ultimately land Arch. One prominent contender has also officially been eliminated from the running.

Beyond that, everything is still up in the air.
Where will Arch ultimately end up going to school when it’s all said and done?
Time will tell.
