Paige Spiranac’s Controversial Stance On Phil Mickelson

Phil Mickelson’s decision to sit out the Masters in 2022 sent reverberations throughout the golf world. The 51-year-old has played in every single one since 1994, and his absence from Augusta National will unquestionably be felt.
As soon as the Mickelson news came down, reactions began to pour in from a variety of analysts.
Golf influencer Paige Spiranac was among the group that weighed in – and her response quickly went viral.
Spiranac’s take largely speaks for itself:
Who cares about Phil. I need to know if Tiger is playing the masters

Folks were quick to point out that this is something of a sharp reversal from Spiranac’s previous position on Mickelson.

Others noted that while Spiranac may not miss Mickelson, they in fact would.
Phil is a good man and an incredibly generous man with his time and his money. He is no saint and only our creator is perfect. His favorite tournament to play is the Masters. The patrons and the tournament will suffer with him not competing. It’s a rotten shame.

Spiranac’s harsh take on Mickelson shouldn’t come as much of a surprise following her recent confession regarding him. That said, given how raw the wound still is for his fans, it’s understandable why some would take offense.
Of course, Spiranac has never been one to shy away from ruffling a few feathers. Whether it’s for her brutal take on Tom Brady or very candid assessment of Barry Bonds, she always keeps it real.
Once upon a time her following was based on her racy photos, incedible Halloween costumes or polarizing statements on men gazing at her chest. Nowadays, she is known just as much for her hot sports takes as anything else.
Not that her Instagram posts don’t blow up, though:

Spiranac is undeniably one of the hottest names in the sports media game right now. That coupled with her massive social media audience gives her extreme relevance.
That means when she has good things to say about someone, a lot of folks will hear it.

And the flip side to that coin is, when she doesn’t like you, as appears to be the case with Mickelson, she has a massive audience to trash you to as well.
