Tom Brady retired from the NFL this past week after putting together more than two decades of historic campaigns. Along the way, he won seven Super Bowls, five MVP awards and set the records for most touchdown passes and most passing yards.
Given that he is all-time great, legendary athletes from various sports have spent the last few days showering Brady and his numerous accomplishments with praise.
That said, not everyone kept the discourse around Brady’s retirement complimentary. While most have been giving the legendary quarterback his flowers, golf influencer Paige Spiranac went for a slightly different take.
In Spiranac’s estimation, the week Brady opted to hang up his cleats was actually the ideal opportunity to take him down a peg.
In a now-viral video posted to Instagram, Spiranac explained why all the chatter about Brady being the GOAT was actually misguided.

“As we know, Tom Brady retired and people are discussing is he the GOAT?” she said. “Tom Brady isn’t even the GOAT in his own household, let’s be real, shout out to Gisele [Bundchen].
“We’re talking about the greatest entertainer of all time, Conor McGregor. We’re talking about the greatest champion of all time, Joey Chestnut, 14 titles. We’re talking about the athlete with the greatest nickname, Gretzky, ‘The Great One’.”
“We’re talking about the most influential athlete, Muhammad Ali. We’re talking about the athlete with the most impact on their sport, Tiger Woods. We’re talking about the greatest Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps. But when I think about the greatest of all time, there is no one other than MJ [Michael Jordan].”
That’s certainly one take.
Spiranac has been making headlines quite a bit over the past few months for her hot commentary. In the immediate aftermath of Brady announcing his retirement, she somehow managed to trigger Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans and Notre Dame fans alike.
Before that, her viciously candid Barry Bonds take went mega-viral.
Prior to this recent general sports analysis turn, Spiranac used to be a headline-maker for other stuff. Namely, her scandalous photos, immodest Halloween attires or polarizing essay on males gazing at her breasts.

Again, not thinking he is the GOAT athlete is fine. But passionately making that case — as opposed to recognizing his incredible accomplishments — immediately after his retirement is a bit of an odd look.
Spiranac is slowly morphing from a golf influencer into a fully-formed general sports analyst. As such, more hot takes from her are inevitably on the horizon.
