Devin Booker and Victor Wembanyama clashed this week when the San Antonio Spurs faced off against the Phoenix Suns for the second time in as many days.
This particular match-up between the Spurs and Suns was much more highly-anticipated than the first because it marked Booker’s return.
Unfortunately for Phoenix – that didn’t end up mattering. Much as was the case the first time around, San Antonio emerged victorious 132-121.
One particular sequence involving both Wembanyama and Booker went viral in the aftermath. It involved a clearly frustrated Booker elbowing the Spurs’ star rookie, only to take multiple Ls for his troubles.

• Booker falls running back in transition
• Booker upset, doesn’t even look at the ball & just wants a good shove to get back at Vic
• Wemby doesn’t care, still gets the off-reb effortlesslyWelcome to the NBA, Devinpic.twitter.com/USKddE1sXo

Fans at home weren’t very sympathetic towards Booker. Wembanyama, conversely, left them very impressed.

That’s the one thing I like about wemby’s game, he just keeps playing. No complaining, no antics, just keep playing

Booker is soft and wasn’t relevant until CP3 came along and made him shine.

Booker becomes increasingly more difficult to like every year

This has been a busy week for Wembanyama.
Between a very livid Gregg Popovich going off on him, his wild photo with Malika Andrews and Kawhi Leonard openly breaking down what aspects of his game he needs to improve, it has been a busy week for the Spurs star.

This is just the latest example of that
If Wembanyama’s first match-up against Booker had this many fireworks, it will be fun to see what happens when the Spurs and Suns face off going forward.
