Arch Manning Now Picking Between Just 2 Schools?
Arch Manning is the most sought-after recruit in the 2023 class and the highest-rated quarterback prospect in the nation. The frenzy surrounding him is something that hasn’t occurred with a high school athlete since LeBron James.
How crazy has the hoopla around Manning gotten? Well, a video of him giving some random blonde a pledge to her university in bed went super viral. Just some flippant throwaway comment that got more coverage than news relating to pro athletes. It’s at that level of insanity.
As things stand, there is a lot of speculation regarding where Arch will go to college. At one point he was linked to as many as five schools, but apparently that list has now been whittled down.
Recently, Heisman voter Brent Beaird revealed that it was likely a 2-school race for Arch at this juncture.
“I think the two places he would go are Texas or Alabama,” he said. “I don’t know if people have heard this or if they’ve talked to him about it, but David Cutcliffe is very close to the Mannings.
“There was talk and reports about Cutcliffe going to as an analyst. Now, look, don’t tell me you want him to just got to Texas as an analyst. He’s a really good football coach and a great quarterbacks coach, but that would have a lot to do with him going to Texas.”
Cutcliffe, of course, is a well-regarded former Duke coach and Manning family mentor. He was the head coach at Ole Miss for a six-year stretch between 1998 and 2004, and he played a pivotal role in Eli Manning becoming a Rebel.
Prior to that, Cutcliffe was the quarterbacks’ coach for Tennessee from 1990 to 1998 and was a big reason for why Peyton Manning ending up a Volunteer.
So is Arch to Alabama or Texas a done deal? It remains to be seen. What is known at the moment is that one school is officially out of the running for his services. Beyond that, there is also one dark horse trying to earn a seat at the table.

Last year Arch threw for 1,913 yards and 26 scores, plus rushed for 381 yards and six scores. The hype surrounding him is real and justified. The kid is a difference-maker.
Where will he ultimately end up going to college when it’s all said and done? Time will tell.
