Texas Tech Fan’s Encounter With Texas Cheerleader Goes Viral (Video)

Texas Tech shocked the world on Saturday afternoon when they staged a massive second-half comeback to defeat Texas in in overtime.

After trailing by 14 points going into halftime, the Red Raiders slowly but surely chipped away at the lead until they finally went ahead late in the fourth quarter. A Longhorns field goal at the end of regulation sent the outing into OT.

On Texas’ first possession in overtime, running back Bijan Robinson fumbled the ball away and paved the way for kicker Trey Wolff to knock home a 20-yard field goal.

Understandably, Red Raiders fans were thrilled. They immediately rushed the field, and that cleared the path for this memorable encounter between a fan and cheerleader:

The Texas cheerleader’s face said it all:

Given the gravity of the moment and how epic that particular “Horns Down” was, reactions to the sequence set the internet ablaze:

Earlier on Saturday a Texas fan’s provocative photos went viral. By day’s end, it was Texas Tech fans stealing the show.

In a college football season that has seen Miami cheerleaders blow up online for their behavior and sorority girl reactions to games capture America’s fascination – this was a fairly appropriate note to end Saturday’s outing on.

Big picture, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for both Texas and Texas Tech from here.

When the Longhorns got cheated out of a win versus Alabama, many thought a big year may lay ahead. Obviously this weekend’s events have taken some of the air out of that.

As for Texas Tech, the Red Raiders suddenly find themselves in a very notable position. Next week’s showdown against Kansas State means way more after the Wildcats upset Oklahoma. And then comes a very tough top-10 Oregon State squad.

Back-to-back wins here would really elevate Texas Tech in a way nobody saw coming at the beginning of the year.

This college football season has gotten off to a crazy start.

What insanity will ultimately follow? Time will tell.
