Tony Romo was on hand doing the broadcasting work for Sunday’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers.
As has become commonplace in 2023, international pop sensation Taylor Swift was there to watch her beau, Travis Kelce, do work.
The Chiefs wound up easily winning the game thanks to an epic 12-reception, 179-yard and one-touchdown showing from their superstar tight end.
Kelce’s performance ultimately supported a controversial comment Romo made earlier in the broadcast.
Part of the way through, Romo suggested that Swift’s ongoing presence at Kelce’s games, and all the hoopla surrounding their relationship, would not adversely affect the future Hall of Famer in the slightest.
“This will not affect anything,” Romo argued. “If anything, he’s probably going to be more methodical with his preparation because he can’t go anywhere.”
Fans initially begged to differ.

That being said, Romo was clearly right. Kelce has been incredible whenever Swift is around. When she attends his games, the Chiefs tight end records over 100 receiving yards per game. When she isn’t, he puts up under 50.
There is a reason that even Kansas City head coach, Andy Reid, has publicly come out in support of their union.

Between Swift’s inability to keep her hands off Brittany Mahomes, Kelce’s cute three-word nickname for Swift and all the broken friendships that have resulted from their union, obviously there have been a lot of eyeballs on Kelce and Swift.

That said, clearly they aren’t bothered by it.
If anything, the pair is embracing it.
Will Kelce and Swift ultimately end up vindicating Romo’s assessment by marching all the way to the Super Bowl together? Time will tell.
