Odell Beckham Has Surprising Take On New Browns Coach

Odell Beckham had a surprising take on new Browns coach Kevin Stefanski this week.

Beckham had something of an underwhelming first season with Cleveland.

After the organization went out and shipped off serious assets in order to acquire him, Beckham spent much of 2019-20 hurt and underperforming.

As a result of Beckham’s decreased production, second-year quarterback Baker Mayfield also regressed from his rookie campaign.

Between the worsening offense the fact that the Browns were never even in serious contention for a playoff spot, then head coach Freddie Kitchens was fired and replaced with Stefanski.

This week, Beckham spoke out on the addition of Stefanski. He appeared impressed with the new coach’s credentials, particularly with what he was able to do with Adam Thielen.

“Just seeing what he did with the Minnesota Vikings for a long time with Thielen and Diggs,” Beckham said in a recent interview.

“These are people who I’ve watched closely on their film, and just seeing the things that he did and meeting him and seeing where his mind’s at for Jarvis (Landry) and myself of how this will all work out, I have a good feeling about it, you know?”

Beckham also noted that he was looking forward to coming into next year with a different attitude.

“I think myself as well had a slice of humble pie this year, because I was hurt all year,” Beckham continued.

“I couldn’t really say I was hurt. I didn’t want to make it seem like I’m having an excuse, but I really couldn’t do what I wanted.

“I just couldn’t move the way that I wanted to, so I think that’s why I’m more motivated now than ever.”

Last season, things got so bad between Beckham and the Browns that at one point he was publicly asking opposing teams to trade for him.

Can the relationship really be repaired at this point?

We’ll get our answer once and for all come next season.
