Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy Banned By TikTok, Instagram?
Barstool Sports boss Dave Portnoy is one of the most controversial personalities online today.
Despite having already been suspended from Twitter once, he has largely avoided punishment from all the tech social media giants that frequently ban/suspend people without cause or justification.
This week, it appears his luck may have run out.
On Thursday, a clearly frustrated Portnoy took to Twitter to express his dilemma.

So is Portnoy right? Have Instagram and TikTok shadow-banned him? Here is what his last 30 days of activity on Instagram look like:
Let’s then examine the activity on both the Instagram and TikTok channels:
Based on Portnoy’s most recent activity on both platforms, it doesn’t seem like he got shadow-banned. But who knows what he’s seeing on his end.
Portnoy most recently found himself in the headlines for a particularly violent sex tape. Before that, he caused waves for bashing sports media personalities and what some believed to be incendiary racial remarks. Through it all, the Barstool Sports head honcho has remained as popular as ever.

Arguably the biggest reason Portnoy has been so successful through the years is his ability to speak directly to his audience. And a big part of that is a massive social media presence across many platforms. If the tech giants do at some point decide to intervene and take that away, it’d be a huge blow to the empire he has built brick by brick.
