Ex-NFL star Jay Cutler is no stranger to controversy. Both during his playing days and in the immediate aftermath the one-time Pro Bowler frequently found himself in the headlines.
This week, it was more of the same.
Cutler has been keeping himself very busy over the past few years. Between his various romantic entanglements and his unique ability to get female ESPN hosts in hot water, it has been one thing after another.
This week, something of a salacious story about Cutler emerged.
According to In Touch Weekly, Cutler “was caught ‘hooking up’ with his good friend’s wife while they were on a family vacation.”
Per the report, Cutler and his kids went on a trip with a friend, his wife and their children. At some point during the festivities, the wife’s husband allegedly became aware of the proclivities that his betrothed and Cutler were engaging in under his nose.
Apparently, the pair had been “hooking up for a long time.”
“Jay went on vacation with his kids and his friend and his wife and their kids,” a source told In Touch Weekly. “The husband and Jay are good friends and also neighbors. Their kids are all friends. While they were on the trip, Jay was hooking up with his wife.”
But that’s not the worst part.
“The friend reached out to [ex-wife Kristin Cavallari], so that’s how she found out,” a source also added. “She just wants to distance herself from all of this.”
Big yikes.
Look, athletes clearly play by a different set of rules. There’s a reason why healthy and happy relationships are such a rarity in that world.
But this is brutal.
Like, Aaron Rodgers is a flawed individual – clearly. But at least he is not out there allegedly breaking up families.
This isn’t the first time Cutler has faced ugly claims. The same happened during his divorce from wife Kristin Cavallari, when she accused him of “inappropriate marital conduct” in her filing.

Hopefully at some point in the foreseeable future Cutler comes out and addresses things. Maybe some additional clarity will help the situation. Because for now, he looks absolutely awful.
Will more details ultimately emerge from this insane story?
