Why Aaron Rodgers Didn’t Go To Brother’s Wedding

Why Aaron Rodgers Didn’t Go To Brother’s Wedding

Aaron Rodgers has accomplished a lot over the course of his professional football career. Four NFL MVP awards, 10 Pro Bowl nods and one Super Bowl MVP speak for themselves.

That said, as much success as the Green Bay Packers star has enjoyed on the field – that’s how rough things have been for him off it.

One of the more bizarre things about Aaron Rodgers off the field is his frosty relationship with his family.

That dynamic was on full display this week, when he opted to miss his brother Jordan’s wedding.

“There’s no scenario in which I wouldn’t want my entire family at my wedding,” Jordan previously stated, per the New York Post. “That’s something all of our family wants and hopes for at this point.”

That said, according to SideAction.com, Aaron skipped his brother’s wedding nevertheless.

“Jordan Rodgers and Jojo felt it was the right thing to do. He wanted to extend the invite as an olive branch,” the report read.

“Aaron and Jordan were super close growing up and it wouldn’t have felt right not inviting his big brother on the biggest day of his life.”

So what happened between Aaron and Jordan to cause this rift? It’s unclear. All that is readily apparent is that one clearly exists. And it isn’t just limited to a sibling rivalry – Aaron is reportedly estranged from his entire family.

The Packers quarterback “remains estranged from his parents, who live in Chico,” noted The Mercury News. In fact, he “hasn’t spoken to his parents or his two brothers for several years, for reasons he has declined to disclose,” the report continued.

“The long-reported estrangement between Rodgers and his parents, Ed and Darla Rodgers, and his brothers, Jordan and Luke, continues. The source of the feud has always been mysterious, as are the reasons it persists.”

Aaron’s ex-girlfriend, actress Olivia Munn, once opened up about the weirdness of his relationship with his family.

“I met one brother, the one who was on ‘The Bachelorette,’” she said at the time.

“I was friendly with Jordan. I met the parents only a couple of times,” she added. “Before he and I started dating, he hadn’t spoken to the parents and one brother for like eight months before we started dating.”

Obviously familial rifts happen. It’s not that out of the ordinary. However, it’s hard to ignore the fact that Aaron seems to find himself at the center of drama a lot.

The primary reason he and his one-time fiancée Shailene Woodley broke up is a matter of public record at this point. As is the fact that her friends hated him.

But it wasn’t just Woodley. The same thing happened with him and Munn. Also, him and ex-girlfriend Danica Patrick – whose comments about him in the aftermath have been pretty self-explanatory.

It’s just one thing after another.

Hopefully at some point Aaron and his family can get on the same page.

Because it definitely feels like whatever is ailing that relationship is probably also hurting his ability to connect with his romantic partners as well.
