Barstool’s Dave Portnoy Reacts To Draymond Green’s Shot At Him
The Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics this week to win their fourth championship in eight years.
Because of how much was on the line in this one, and in light of how well-matched these two teams were, the series turned chippy in a hurry.
A lot of dirty plays and hurt feelings ensued.
Midway through the series, Barstool Sports boss Dave Portnoy took aim at Warriors star Draymond Green. Specifically, he took issue with Green, a known trash-talker, complaining about Celtics fans chanting some explicit words at him:
Is this better you pussies? @Money23Green @KlayThompson pic.twitter.com/J2IQzCiSQf

After the Warriors won the title, Green opted to respond to Portnoy:
Hold dat L sucka https://t.co/Hi3AytfZSk
— Draymond Green (@Money23Green) June 17, 2022
That in turn led to this reply from Portnoy:
We’re onto Cincinnati https://t.co/7GCcsK7fPj

Portnoy’s tweet received something of a mixed reaction:

Big picture, it’s easy to understand why neither side wants to back down here. Portnoy is no stranger to controversy, nor is he afraid to publicly speak his mind on whatever he wants (though his girlfriend has mellowed him out a bit).
Green is cut from a similar cloth. He too keeps it pretty real.
In that respect, none of this is surprising.
Green is on a vengeance tour, as evidenced by this new Celtics t-shirt he had made.

Portnoy is recovering from his team’s disappointing defeat.
All parties involved are just playing their parts.
Will the back-and-forth continue now that the Finals are over? Probably not.
