Seth Curry’s Brutally Honest Tweet About Brother Stephen
Seth Curry’s Brutally Honest Tweet About Brother Stephen
The Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics last week to claim their most recent championship.
Stephen Curry was stellar in the winning effort, leading his team to a definitive victory and capturing the NBA Finals MVP trophy along the way.
Given that Finals MVP was the lone remaining accomplishment that had eluded Steph up to this point, him getting the honor cemented his place in NBA lore for a lot of past doubters. Not the racist ones like Skip Bayless, but definitely a lot of others.
Shortly after Steph won his fourth ring in eight years, his brother Seth Curry took to social media and got brutally honest about what had just happened:
Don’t talk about Steph again unless it’s in a convo with the time great PLAYERS!! And i mean a hand full of people to ever touch a basketball.

With Twitter being what it is these days, reactions to Seth’s commentary poured in immediately:
Players greater than Steph:
Jordan, Kareem, Bird, Shaq, Kobe, Lebron, Duncan, Wilt, Russell, Magic, Durant, Giannis (eventually), Hakeem, Oscar, Malone….
Do I need to keep going?

Greatest shooter of all time. One of the greatest players of all time.

Not in a same conversation with Lebron tho.

Go play with him then we don’t talk like that over here on the nets buddy idc if that’s ya brother homie

Relax, buddy. If not for KD and sitting out an entire season to get a high pick he would have one title. But go off. You’ll never win or be even close to 4.

Seth has spoken out about Steph before, but not specifically in this sort of context. He has mentioned how he compares himself to his brother in the past, plus his one major goal to match his bro.
But Seth has rarely been this publicly effusive with his praise.
Steph and Seth have had several special moments over the past year. One particularly noteworthy one was Steph’s emotional message to his brother amid their parents’ messy divorce.

This is another.
Getting praise from strangers is nice, but there is something truly unique about getting respect and adoration from your family.
Seth’s tweet must have felt great for Steph. The perfect cherry atop an already-incredible week.
