Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis has been putting in serious work on his body this summer.
On the heels of getting a three-year, $186 million contract extension from L.A., the richest annual contract extension in NBA history, Davis decided to offer fans a glimpse into what the Lakers paid for.
Davis has never had a particularly muscley or bulky frame, but he appears to be working to change that.
The degree of results he is already seeing even has Davis’ biggest critics impressed.

While a lot often gets made about Davis’ injury history, and rightfully so, he is coming off a tremendous campaign with the Lakers in 2022-23.
Not only did the team make the Western Conference Finals, but Davis played a central role in putting them there. He shot a career-high 56 percent from the field last season while chipping in 26 points, nearly 13 rebounds and two blocks per game.

While questions have lingered about his ‘strained’ relationship with LeBron James, Davis did his best to address their dynamic honestly and truthfully earlier in the offseason.
This is going to be a huge year for Davis and the Lakers. Will they be able to continue riding the momentum from last season in 2023-24? Time will tell.
