Kevin Durant Responds To Possible Nets Summer Return

Kevin Durant has responded to a possible Brooklyn Nets summer return by indicating that it was unlikely.

After the NBA season was suspended, many have suggested that the league will return to action at some point this summer for some sort of special playoff round.

Durant has missed the entirety of the season thus far with his Achilles injury, but some have wondered if perhaps he would return for a late-summer round of basketball.

This week, Durant’s manager Rich Kleiman went on ESPN’s Golic & Wingo and shot those rumors down once and for all.

“Honestly, not very realistic from my standpoint, and not even spoken about,” Kleiman said.

“It feels like (Durant playing in the 2019-20 season) clearly was not something that was in the cards prior to all this,” Kleiman continued.

“And now, I think just like the rest of the world, it’s hard to take anything more than day by day.

“I think that Kevin is going to figure out the space that he needs to be in to continue to rehab during this time. But even that is hard to answer at this point, with the new kind of rules that were put in place last night.”

So far the Nets are 30-34 on the year and the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference.

If the season resumes and automatically jumps into playoff mode, regardless of what the rules are, Brooklyn would make the cut.

Unfortunately, it appears they will have to play it out without Durant.
