Tom Brady Staying With Patriots, Say NFL Execs

Tom Brady will be staying with the New England Patriots, say various NFL executives around the league.

Heading into March 18, Brady’s looming free agency is the hottest topic in football.

Will he stay or will he go?

According to odds makers, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have now officially eclipsed the Patriots as the favorites to come away with the 42-year-old.

That said, not everyone is convinced.

ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler spoke with multiple executives around the league recently and many of them believe that New England is still the situation that makes the most sense for him.

“Among beliefs: Brady slow-playing for more weapons, market won’t be obscene, N.E. still best place to win,” Fowler said.

“We’ll see what happens, but not many envision him in new uniform.”

Fowler’s report coincides with one from NBC’s Chris Simms in which he noted that Brady’s first choice, the San Francisco 49ers, would not be pursuing him this offseason.

Simms then suggested that Brady’s options at this stage in the game are down to the Buccaneers and Patriots.

If those really are the only two choices Brady is facing, then it makes all the sense in the world why everyone would assume that he will end up back with New England.
