Damian Lillard Gets Brutally Honest About Thanasis Antetokounmpo

Damian Lillard’s first year with the Milwaukee Bucks has not gone as smoothly as planned.

On the court, he and Giannis Antetokounmpo have seemingly not quite gotten on the same page.

Off it, Lillard is in the midst of a messy divorce that has seen his 2 demands for his soon-to-be ex-wife leak out and her expose him for being fake.

Recently Lillard also found himself at the center of controversy over his treatment of Giannis’ brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo.

This past week, Lillard addressed his true feelings on Thanasis and got brutally honest about his skills as a basketball player.

“I see the stuff on social media about TA (Thanasis),” he said.

“A lot of guys might feel like they’re more talented or have more ability, but they could never take his spot. People try to be funny. I would put good money that a lot of people talking on Twitter wouldn’t be able to beat him one-on-one.”

It is hard to argue with Lillard’s point there. It is unlikely that any randoms off social media could ever beat a professional at anything.

That being said, Lillard’s larger point also doesn’t change the fact that Thanasis is a terrible player who is only on the Bucks because of his brother.

Either way, you have to respect Lillard’s efforts at smoothing things over with the Antetokounmpo family. He and Giannis will need to get on the same page in order for the Bucks to have any shot at winning a championship in 2024.
