Bryce James is the youngest son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, and one of the most highly-touted basketball prospects in the nation.
Both he and Bronny James play for Sierra Canyon, a private school in Los Angeles, California.
This past week Sierra Canyon took on Bishop Gorman in a Las Vegas Border League tournament outing. While the main headline coming out of it was Bronny’s 31-point explosion, eagle-eyed fans also noticed something interesting about Bryce during the game.
The roster sheet stats speak for themselves:
CBC’s (Sierra Canyon) roster for today lists Bryce James as 6-foot-6. He’s hit a major growth spurt. Will be interesting to see if he takes the court tonight for the Trailblazers. pic.twitter.com/ZYtxvuLpBQ

That is quite the growth spurt. For context, Bryce’s big brother is 6’3. Bronny is a senior; Bryce is just a sophomore.
At 6’6, Bryce is already just three inches shy of LeBron’s listed height.
Recent photos of Bryce showed just how massive was getting, but seeing the stats on paper really puts it into perspective.
There is a lot of hype surrounding Bryce right now. Some good, some not-so-good. Brian Windhorst’s word of caution about Bryce’s attitude certainly perked some ears up last week. Time will tell if there will be any updates to that in the near future.
That said – skill-wise, Bryce is impressive. This clip of him absolutely working other kids speaks for itself:

It will be interesting to see where the James boys go from here. They have the right genes. They have the right guidance, courtesy of LeBron.
And they have a lot of really strong skills for their age.

Will they be able to put all of that together to have strong collegiate and pro basketball careers?
Time will tell.
