Bryce James is making an important college visit this weekend.
As his older brother, Bronny, continues recovering from his recent health scare, Bryce is moving forward in his own basketball career by checking out Ohio State on Saturday and Sunday.
Bronny famously visited the Buckeyes as well, before ultimately opting to join USC.
Time will tell if Bryce follows a similar path.
While Bronny and Bryce are both obviously LeBron James’ sons, they have very different games. The latter’s physique and athleticism is much more reminiscent to LeBron’s than the former’s.
It only takes one side-by-side comparison between Bryce and Bronny to see the difference.
Bryce is coming off two appearances in the 16-under division at Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League. While there he averaged 7.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game through 13 outings during his first stint, and then 8.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists through four games in the second stint.
Bryce has made a lot of waves at the high school level this year by first transferring from Sierra Canyon to Campbell Hall, and then transferring from Campbell Hall to Notre Dame. No precise reason was given for all the jumping around.
A lot of the attention on the James kids in recent months has obviously been focused on Bronny and his health. Bryce, specifically, offered a very heartfelt message to his big brother.
Beyond that, LeBron and Savannah made their positions on Bronny ever playing basketball again very clear.

But obviously Bryce is quite the big deal in the basketball world in his own right.
And this weekend’s Ohio State visit is likely just the first of many more visits to come.
Where will Bryce ultimately end up going to school when it is all said and done? Time will tell.
