Klay Thompson Golden State Warriors Return Date Revealed

Klay Thompson Golden State Warriors Return Date Revealed

Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson has lost two seasons in the prime of his career to a torn ACL and torn Achilles.

Due to the hefty financial investment that was made in Thompson, Golden State has been careful not to rush him back.

Fortunately, it looks like a return is on the horizon.

And it may happen a lot sooner than anyone anticipated.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Thompson could make his comeback before Christmas.

“I’m told if he continues on his current course right now in rehab, that a target date for his return will be set probably within the next couple weeks,” he said.

“And It could be—there’s optimism it could be as soon as December 20, December 23. The Warriors have home games before Christmas, and so the plan for Klay Thompson is to continue to ramp up.

“The Warriors’ll go on a road trip in mid-December, and at that point, if Klay continues on this track, he’d go down and play with the Warriors’ G League team. And the idea is, and the hope is, they’ll have him back perhaps prior to Christmas.”

This most recent update actually aligns with something Thompson himself recently said during an ESPN broadcast.

“I’m feeling great,” Thompson said last week. “Just working every day like I have been the last two years and I’m playing 3-on-3 and just getting back into the tip-top game shape.”

Above all else, Thompson is excited to get back to doing what he did best – winning.

“I really miss the winning,” he said. “I miss playing in front of the fans and then just playing basketball. I really love what I do, I always have since I was a kid. I think these last two years have given me a great sense of appreciation for the work it takes to be great. And my story is still being written, so I’m not satisfied with where my career is at. I still have many more chapters to write.”

Thompson tore his ACL in the third quarter of Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors in 2019. He has not been back since. Hopefully that will change soon.

Although he hasn’t been hooping, Thompson has stayed quite active over the past couple of years. Between granting dying people their final wishes, getting himself a new girlfriend, and being on the wrong end of a leaked photo situation – he has been in the news plenty.

Fortunately, if these most recent reports prove true, he’ll soon be in the news for the thing he does best – being one of the NBA’s top basketball players.
