Travis Hunter’s Commitment To Be Investigated Amid Barstool Link?

High school football star Travis Hunter shocked the world on Wednesday when he flipped his commitment from Florida State to Jackson State.
In agreeing to join head coach Deion Sanders’ program, he became the first five-star high school football prospect to sign with an FCS team in more than a decade.
“Florida State has always been a beacon for me,” Hunter said in a Twitter post. “I grew up down there, that’s where my roots are, and I never doubted that I would play for the Seminoles.
“It’s a dream that is hard to let go of, but sometimes we are called to step into a bigger future than the one we imagined for ourselves. For me, that future is at Jackson State University.”
Shortly after the Hunter news went live, a second follow-up report emerged.
The report stated that Barstool Sports is allegedly inking the young star to a massive deal.

Because a school still cannot pay a player to come play for them and seeing that Sanders works for barstool it could be an ethics violation of the NIL

Some called for an investigation:
So they paid him to go to Jackson State. Interesting, I am sure the NCAA will look into this.

How does this align with the Mississippi NIL law prohibition against participating with gambling? pic.twitter.com/S7uehxMOql

Regardless of what happened here, in a 2021-22 college football season marred for some fans by an SEC reporter being criticized for her overly “exposing” clothing and deliberate bullying of team workers, this doesn’t even seem all that bad.
The perks of being a star NFL quarterback. https://t.co/41jjiHQn7C

Will the powers that be ultimately investigate this deal?
Time will tell.
