Calvin Ridley Cryptic Tweet Amidst Gambling Bust Goes Viral
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley was suspended for the entire 2022 NFL season after getting caught gambling on games.
During a brief stint in late November 2021 while he was not with the Falcons and on the non-football illness list, Ridley allegedly placed several parlay wagers. These ultimately got flagged and reported to the league.
In a statement on Twitter, Ridley admitted that he shouldn’t have been gambling – but maintained that he had wagered a grand total of $1500. If true, that would mean he cost himself roughly $11 million for a truly paltry sum.
Ridley is eligible to apply for reinstatement on Feb. 13, 2023, assuming nothing changes between now and then.
In the aftermath of Ridley’s bust, fans started taking a magnifying glass to his old tweets. Surely enough, folks couldn’t help but notice a cryptic message sent one day before which seemingly hinted at what was to come.

This has been a crazy year for football in general. Between NFL reporters having to apologize for ‘offensive’ tweets, a broadcaster getting dragged online because her outfit was deemed too revealing and all the crazy legal stuff that has occurred – this most recent gambling weirdness just feels like par for the course.
Obviously all parties involved are trying to make an example out of Ridley to ensure no other players gamble.
The video speaks for itself. https://t.co/1uY8SZ5kVu
