Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and actress Shailene Woodley have officially broken up and called off their engagement.
After weeks of speculation, confirmation of the pair’s split finally arrived on Wednesday.
There has been a lot of chatter in recent days about the jealousy issues that plagued Rodgers and Woodley with growing frequency. That coupled with the increasing tension surrounding their personal views created a deeply unsettling dynamic.
But in the end, something else ultimately broke the pair up for good.
According to TMZ, it came down to priorities. Rodgers had once again started focusing on his football career above all else.
“Woodley was nothing but supportive of Rodgers as he faced criticism during his COVID-19 vaccine drama back in November … but talks of a split escalated back in December,” the report read.
“Word is Rodgers was getting “cold feet” and prioritized his football career … with the report adding Woodley felt “neglected” during the relationship.”
And thus ends one of the more whirlwind celebrity relationships in recent memory.
Starting with how this pair got engaged in the oddest way conceivable, they’ve been a permanent fixture in the headlines. Between the (possibly dubious) roots of their relationship and all the wacky stuff that they have come to be defined by, it has been one issue after another for them.
Now, it would appear, all parties involved can finally move forward.

Rodgers can go back to focusing on football. Woodley can continue to establish herself as a star to watch in Hollywood.
And most importantly, Danica Patrick can sleep easy at night knowing that she was right about this pairing from the very beginning.
