The Cleveland Browns acquired quarterback Deshaun Watson this offseason with the hope that he could put his past indiscretions behind him and change the franchise’s fortunes.
At the moment, it doesn’t look like that is going to happen.
Watson, who last year found himself on the wrong end of 22 civil suits alleged various sexual misdeeds, continues to make headlines over the matter.
Just this week, his attorney seemed to confirm during a podcast that “what little sexual activity did occur was consensual” and that “there are only three occasions in our cases that any type of sexual activity occurred.”

Aside from all the obvious issues with the claims that have been made against Watson, there is also one other sticky side plot involved – the fact that he has been in long-term relationship with girlfriend Jilly Anais this whole time.
You will recall, the pair celebrated in very provocative fashion when news came down that Watson wouldn’t face any criminal charges.

It will be interesting to see how this story progresses. No matter what happens from here on out, a lot of people’s impressions of Watson will likely never recover after what has transpired.
Many of the quarterback’s troubling DMs and text messages have emerged in the last several months, revealing in graphic detail his strange alleged sexual inclinations. That doesn’t just go away at the snap of a finger.
And the same is true for Anais. The way she has handled this whole ordeal has rubbed a lot of folks the wrong way.

Clearly Watson was counting on his trade to the Browns serving as some sort of rebirth after what transpired in Houston. But thus far, that hasn’t quite materialized in the way he likely hoped.
