Cowboys Star Makes Surprising 2020 Decision

A Cowboys star made a surprising 2020 decision this week.

Linebacker Sean Lee has decided to play next season.

Many speculation that Lee would contemplate retirement given his numerous health issues in recent years, but apparently that is not the case.

There is no denying that the 33-year-old is immensely talented, but injury issues have hampered him immensely in recent years.

This led some to speculate that he may call it quits before the 2020 season commences.

No so.

In a recent report, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport relayed Lee’s insistence on continuing on as an NFL player.

The star linebacker will test free agency, but is more than welcome to a reunion with the Cowboys if the right situation comes along.

“Cowboys LB Sean Lee, at 33 years old, is playing in 2020, his agent MikeMcCartney7 says,” Rapoport tweeted out.

“Considering how strong Lee finished last season — double digit tackles in two of his last five games — this makes sense. He’ll test free agency, but also could return to Dallas.”

Over the course of a 10-year NFL career Lee has played in a total of 109 outings. He has started in 90 of those. During that span he also made it to two Pro Bowls and has gotten a First Team All Pro nod.

Six of Lee’s seasons have featured him getting at least 80 tackles. For his career, he has also recorded 14 picks.

Unfortunately, Lee has also been hurt a lot. Over the course of the last three years Lee he has sat out nine or more outings on three separate occasions.

It remains to be seen if new head coach Mike McCarthy will bring Lee back into the fold next season or if the star linebacker will suit up for someone new in 2020.
