NFL Player Goes Off On Russell Wilson, Ciara (Video)

Russell Wilson and Ciara have done everything right this offseason when it has come to embracing the Denver Broncos and their new situation.

A trade from a team you’ve been with throughout your entire career is never easy, but Wilson and Ciara have handled it about as well as anyone would be able to.

Despite that, the pair still has its fair share of critics.

This week, another one decided to come forward and gripe about his beef with them.

During a recent appearance on the Pivot podcast, former NFL player Channing Crowder once again took aim at Wilson and Ciara:

“I don’t know, you know I’ve been criticized a lot,” said Crowder.

“Called the man lame, called him square… They got on my about that… No I’m not taking it back!… It’s an opinion. I know dudes that I want to hang with, I grew up in Atlanta and I know guys I wanna hang with. I don’t wanna hang with Russ! ‘Cause he put mousse in his hair, he slick it sideways, he ain’t my type of dude.”

Crowder’s reference there is to past comments he made regarding Wilson, where he openly disrespected him and said Ciara was simply with him for money.

“If Russell didn’t have that bread Ciara wouldn’t be with him,” Crowder said. “Ciara, she has a good situation. You don’t leave Future and get with Russell Wilson. It’s a type. Everybody has a type… and I love him on the field but he’s f–king square.”

Those comments got so much attention that even Wilson’s former teammate, D.K. Metcalf, felt the need to address them.

Rather than backing away from his obviously divisive sentiments, Crowder seems to be doubling down.

It’s really unclear what his beef here truly is.

Do Wilson and Ciara end up getting mocked sometimes? Sure. Ciara’s ex, rapper Future, literally just publicly ridiculed them in a music video.

And yes, sometimes their choices of outfits make them the subject of some laughs.

But as Metcalf said, does any of that really matter more than the fact that they are in a happy, healthy marriage?

Does Wilson’s goofiness really take away from the fact that he has been a stable, reliable and well-meaning father to his children? Including one that isn’t even biologically his?

Crowder has continuously come off as a hater on this matter.

His most recent comments are no exception.
