NFL Player Addresses Insulting Russell Wilson, Ciara Allegation

Former NFL player Channing Crowder stirred up controversy a few months ago when he made a salacious claim about Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara.

During an episode of his podcast back in April, Crowder stated that Wilson was “a lame” and that Ciara was only with him for money.

“If Russell didn’t have that bread Ciara wouldn’t be with him,” Crowder said. “Ciara, she has a good situation. You don’t leave Future and get with Russell Wilson. It’s a type. Everybody has a type… and I love him on the field but he’s f–king square.”

Crowder’s commentary drew some strong reactions – including one from Wilson’s former Seattle Seahawks teammate D.K. Metcalf.

This week, Crowder decided to address his original comments and the controversy surrounding them on another podcast appearance.

“Bringing up Ciara, bringing up the man’s family, I’ll take that back,” Crowder said.

Despite being sorry about some of his statements, Crowder seems to be standing by the rest.

“Have ya’ll seen Russell’s videos?” Crowder asked. “Have you seen, ‘Mr. Unlimited’?! And, this goofy s–t he does?! I don’t know why so many people were mad at my opinion of Russell Wilson is a square and a lame.”

That’s quite the apology.

“I didn’t call him an alcoholic. I didn’t call him a deadbeat dad. I didn’t call him a pedophile. I called him lame!”

Wilson and Ciara seem to have a very happy and healthy marriage. And it’s not even like they are that boring.

When you factor in them sprinting away from Ciara’s ex Future at a party and speaking about the craziest place they got freaky, they can actually be quite exciting.

While Wilson’s ex-wife may not be his biggest fan, Ciara seems to be quite happy with him.

And if that’s the case, then what business is it of Crowder’s how things are between them?

Hopefully this is the last time Crowder speaks on this topic.

But if recent history is any indication, it probably won’t be.
