McKayla Maroney’s Provocative Valentine’s Day Photos Go Viral
McKayla Maroney is one of the most recognizable and successful Olympic gymnasts of her generation. Ten years ago, in the 2012 Games, she won gold in the team event and a silver medal in the individual vault event.
Since retiring from competition, Maroney has remained in the larger cultural zeitgeist thanks to her decision to pivot careers. In an effort to capitalize on her longstanding fame and public adoration, she became a social media influencer.
Currently Maroney boasts more than 1.4 million followers on Instagram, 82000 on TikTok and 540000 on Twitter. Any time she posts anything on any of those platforms – it immediately goes viral.
And it was more of the same this week, when Maroney opted to celebrate Valentine’s Day like only she can.
On Tuesday, Maroney published these photos to commemorate the occasion – and they immediately went viral.

That of course is to say nothing of her racy video from a few months back which nearly broke the internet.
At this point it’s clear that Maroney has unparalleled social media skills.

The Olympic gold medalist has transitioned quite seamlessly to this new path, and her continued follower growth proves that.
Given Maroney’s rapid ascent in the space up to this point, it’s safe to say that she will continue to go viral many times over in 2022.
