What Nikola Jokic Drank Every Day Before Coming To NBA

Reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic is one of the league’s better success stories.

As a second-round pick, nobody expected much from him.

Despite that, Jokic got better on an annual basis en route to becoming one of the NBA’s premiere centers.

Along the way, he had to make a lot of sacrifices.

During a recent interview with CNN, Jokic acknowledged that he didn’t have the healthiest of eating habits prior to coming to the NBA.

“I used to drink two or three liters of Coca-cola every day and I had my last can on the flight to the United States,” he said.

“The first week in practice was tough. All my teammates were more physical and athletic…I kind of wanted to go home.”

Fortunately, Jokic stuck it out and went on to become one of the best players in the NBA today.

This has been a rough year for the Nuggets. The squad has been banged up all season and their 18-16 record reflects that. Jokic, fresh off winning an MVP award, has made more headlines for gangland-style beefs than his on-the-court accomplishments.

That said, as he showed with his offseason body transformation, Jokic is in a constant state of evolution. Whether its not drinking soda or working at his craft – Jokic is constantly getting better.

And when the Nuggets finally get healthy, they’re going to be as scary as they have been over the past few years thanks to the work he has put in.
