Warriors Aiming To Trade For Big Star In 2025
The Golden State Warriors didn’t do much of note during the NBA offseason.
They essentially got rid of Klay Thompson in the messiest way possible and replaced him with Buddy Hield.
How that will ultimately work out for them remains to be seen.
That said, Warriors brass apparently took a more tentative approach in 2024 because they have set their sights on a lofty goal in 2025.
That goal? Adding Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
“One that I think is just always gonna be monitored around the NBA is if the wheels fall off the Bucks,” NBA insider Sam Amick said this week.

“We know that Joe Lacob has had dreams of Giannis coming the Warriors’ way for a very long time. Again, unlikely, but Khris Middleton is gonna be a free agent next summer… I think Giannis is worth monitoring.”
Golden State has also has a ‘Plan B’ star in mind if it fails to get Antetokounmpo.
Obviously a lot of pieces need to align in order to make this vision a reality. Specifically, Milwaukee would somehow have to come to the conclusion that allowing the biggest legend in franchise history to depart would somehow be prudent.
But in the NBA, nothing is impossible.
Will Antetokounmpo at some point in time find himself playing alongside Stephen Curry? An answer one way or the other is coming soon enough.
