Draymond Green is one of the boldest players in the NBA today. He rarely shies away from giving his unfiltered take on things, mostly just because he isn’t afraid of the consequences.
Because the 32-year-old is so outspoken and undeterred by openly beefing with guys, he rarely meets anyone who actually bothers confronting him over the things he says.
This week, an exception to that rule emerged.
Earlier this week, during a broadcast, Green revealed that he expected his Golden State Warriors would face off against the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals.
After the Miami Heat defeated Boston on Friday night in Game 6 of their Eastern Conference Finals series, veteran Udonis Haslem called Green out.
“Draymond broke the code,” Haslem told Yahoo Sports NBA insider Chris Haynes after the game. “You ain’t supposed to say some s**t like that. That’s disrespectful. He know better than that.”
Haslem didn’t stop there.
“He let Shaq peer pressure him into saying some s**t he ain’t got no business saying. I didn’t sleep much after he said that. That was some bulls**t.”
Haslem is a fascinating character in his own right. Whether he’s off feuding with Serbian thugs or bluntly calling out LeBron James – the man keeps it real.
Green is the same way. He’s a guy who isn’t even afraid to call out Stephen Curry.
There has really only been one player who has ever fired back at Green over his comments, and that led to mixed results. So it’s unclear how Haslem’s shots at the Warriors star will ultimately shake out.
That’s quite the workout. https://t.co/ZmhkF3qERb

In any case – if the Heat do end up proving Green wrong and advance to the NBA Finals, a new level of intrigue will inevitably surround the series.
When you’re playing for a championship, tensions are always high. But this will take things up to yet another level.
Will Green and Haslem have the opportunity to settle this beef on the court? Time will tell.
