Stephen Curry’s Dad Dell Remarries After Divorcing Sonya

Stephen Curry’s parents went through a high-profile divorce several years ago.

There were rumors of infidelity on both sides. Salacious claims were made. Lurid details emerged. Sides were taken.

Things got so bad at one point that Stephen had to send a very public, extremely emotional message to his younger brother Seth.

Fortunately, it looks like all the old wounds have healed. So much so, in fact, that Dell has really moved on with his life in the most extreme way possible.

In a conversation with the Charlotte Observer, Dell revealed recently that he got remarried roughly a year ago after the split from Sonya.

“Yes,” he said. “It’s great. … I didn’t know what I was gonna do (after the divorce). I thought about going to the West Coast. I’m like, “Nah, I’m not gonna follow my sons. I’m going to stick it out. Hang here.

“And then I had friends who introduced me to my wife now. I’d met her a couple of times. We talked on the phone for a month before I laid eyes on her. I’m like: ‘Oh, I like this girl, man. What’s going on here?’

“I wasn’t going to get married again. But life is great right now. It couldn’t be better. For me, I’m at a great place in my life. My home situation is sound. My kids and their families are doing great. They’re happy for me. I’m happy for them. So life’s good.”

Sonya, for her part, seems to have a new love interest as well.

Being in the public light is never easy. That goes twofold for families like the Currys, who are arguably as famous as any group of people in the world.

That said, it is a part of the lifestyle that they chose.

Will Stephen make any public appearances with Dell and his new wife now that their nuptials are a matter of public record? Time will tell.
