Patrick Beverley is in the midst of a more-or-less normal season by the standard he has set for himself. Currently, he is averaging 4.5 points per game on 43 percent shooting from the field and 29.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
That is roughly on par with the 5.8 points per game Beverley averaged last season with the Chicago Bulls and 6.4 points per game he averaged with the Los Angeles Lakers.
In addition to his on-the-court exploits, Beverley has also launched a podcast with Barstool Sports. This week, the outspoken star used his platform to go off on Josh Giddey of the Oklahoma City Thunder over the allegations surrounding him and Liv Cook.
Giddey, of course, stands accused of having an inappropriate relationship with Cook. It is being alleged that she was under the age of 18 when their purported link-up occurred. Multiple troubling photos and videos have emerged of the parties involved.
In addition to all that, Giddey has also been linked to another high schooler.
Beverley had a strong take on the whole situation this week.
“I don’t even want to talk about it. I got a daughter,” Beverley said.
“I don’t even want to think about it. I have two daughters… I have been fortunate not to be in situations like that. But I have a daughter, I just know how I get.”
Clearly a nerve was touched.
At the moment, Giddey’s family has taken a pretty strong stance against Cook.

Cook’s family, meanwhile, has offered something of a surprising response to the whole controversy.
This week’s surprising developments threw another wrench into the works.
By all accounts, both law enforcement and the NBA are investigating what truly occurred between Giddey and Cook, and when. Sooner or later, the truth will come out.
