Bronny James is one of the most highly-touted high school basketball players in the nation. Beyond that, he is also the son of LeBron James – in many people’s eyes the best or second-best NBA player of all time.
Understandably, because of all that, he often finds himself in the headlines.
It was more of the same this week, when a series of photos involving Bronny and his apparent girlfriend, Peyton Gelfuso, emerged.

The reactions here are simultaneously predictable but also bizarre. Bronny’s girlfriend hasn’t exactly been a secret up to this point.
There have been plenty of other photos of them together.
The only folks are shocked right now are ones that haven’t been paying attention.
Peyton, for what it’s worth, doesn’t seem to be running away from the headlines. Her Instagram remains public:

It will be interesting to see where this relationship goes from here. Obviously college is just around the corner for both.
Bronny presently has four legendary universities vying for his services. Where he will ultimately end up remains to be seen.
After that, it’s the NBA – where one franchise seems to be preparing to sign both him and his dad in one fatal swoop.

The backlash Bronny faced over his prom photos is unfortunate, but a good taste of what’s to come scrutiny-wise as he gets older. The same thing happened when he was linked to an Instagram model not long ago.
That’s just the nature of social media as it currently exists.
