The Golden State Warriors are 18-22 after 40 games and sit 12th in the Western Conference.
That is a far cry from being the championship contenders many envisioned them as prior to the season commencing.
For weeks Golden State was connected to a possible trade for Pascal Siakam, but one roadblock ultimately scuttled the deal. He wound up going to the Indiana Pacers instead.
This week, the Warriors were linked to a three-team trade for Lauri Markkanen that could their entire season around.
By any objective measure, the proposed deal is a win-win-win for all parties involved.
As noted by Fadeaway World, a three-team trade that could solve a lot of headaches around the NBA would involve Markkanen going to the Warriors, the Dallas Mavericks getting Draymond Green, and the Utah Jazz receiving Jonathan Kuminga, Josh Green, a 2027 first-rounder from Dallas and 2028 first-rounder from Golden State.
Across the board, this swap would check a lot of boxes.
The Warriors would get a potent offensive weapon that pairs perfectly with Stephen Curry. Green has been a piece that the Mavericks have long coveted, so he would make for a snug fit in Dallas. And the Jazz would continue on their rebuild with some ultra-talented, versatile weapons – plus a ton of draft capital.

It is also worth noting that given how poorly the Warriors have played in recent months, that future first-rounder could prove to be a lot more valuable than one would imagine a pick from Golden State being.
Obviously Golden State was just linked to a blockbuster trade with the New Orleans Pelicans, but in many ways, this one makes more sense.
Will the Warriors, Mavericks and Jazz be able to get on the same page and get something done ahead of the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline? Time will tell.
