The Golden State Warriors are 17-19 through 35 games this year and struggling to stay afloat in the Western Conference.
Everyone seems to agree that changes must be made. Even rival players from opposing teams.
This week, Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers proposed a ‘win-win’ trade that he believes could vastly improve Golden State’s odds of turning the season around.
That being said – one roadblock may prevent the Warriors from making a big trade.
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, three players appear to be off the table for the Warriors as far as trade talks go. It was already reported earlier this week that Jonathan Kuminga was a no-go in any potential Pascal Siakam trade with the Toronto Raptors.
Stein reiterated that, and then added two more names to whom a similar rule applies.
“There likewise continues to be zero indication that they would even explore trading franchise legends Klay Thompson or Draymond Green,” he wrote.
“The Warriors are also known to be resistant to the idea of trading Kuminga, who was selected with the No. 7 overall pick in 2021.”
That being said, there is one guy Golden State seems willing to part ways with.
“Given the limited success Golden State has found when pairing Kuminga with Andrew Wiggins, there is a rising belief among rival teams that the Warriors are increasingly open to the idea of trading Wiggins, who was an integral component of their title run in 2022,” Stein noted.
“The question persists: What sort of market exists for Wiggins, even though he possesses what is regarded as a team-friendly contract, so soon after he was relegated from the Warriors’ starting lineup? Wiggins, 28, is in Year 1 of a four-year, $109 million deal.”
Wiggins’ girlfriend took to social media last week with something of a cryptic response to all the trade rumors.

Clearly they have heard the noise.
It will be interesting to see where Golden State goes from here.
Obviously the Warriors need to make some changes, but it may be difficult to make them happen when they are unwilling to give up any trade assets they may have.
