Leaked 76ers Uniforms Explain Ben Simmons’ Trade Demand

The Philadelphia 76ers are in the midst of a brutal offseason.

Following last year’s collapse in the second round of the playoffs, the organization’s relationship with team star Ben Simmons completely disintegrated.

Since then, things between Simmons and the front office have gotten particularly ugly.

As if all that wasn’t bad enough, now the Sixers have a fresh mess on their hands: photos leaked out of their new uniforms and people absolutely hate them.

The reactions speak for themselves:

To be fair, the color scheme on these doesn’t seem totally random:

Though that doesn’t appear to be soothing the anxieties of fans who are ticked off about the design.

Big picture, these new uniforms are probably the least of Philly’s problems right now. The front office just revealed how it plans to punish Simmons for his threat to sit out the entire season, all while the 25-year-old appears steadfast in his refusal to return.

To date Simmons has been linked to a potential 4-team trade involving the Los Angeles Lakers and a fascinating deal with the Houston Rockets, but thus far nothing has materialized.

Meanwhile, the 76ers have rejected proposals from both the Minnesota Timberwolves and Toronto Raptors for not meeting their asking price.

One way or another, this is going to be a brutal next few months for Philly basketball. Will that include trotting out a uniform design that fans openly hate already? Or will they go back to the drawing board after hearing the response? Time will tell.
