Stephen Curry Reveals One Big Goal Before Retirement
Stephen Curry has achieved a lot over the course of his NBA career. With a record that includes three NBA championships, two league MVP awards, six NBA All-Star appearances and three All-NBA First Team nods, his legacy is secure.
That said, he still has one notable goal he wants to check off before his inevitable retirement: playing out his remaining days with the Golden State Warriors.
“Wearing the same jersey for as long as I can, that’s a huge goal, for sure,” he said on Monday.
“It’s an elite club of guys that you look at that have played with the same organization and been successful and achieved greatness in that respect.
“That would be an awesome accomplishment, something I’ve obviously spoken publicly about and very committed to,” he continued.
“But that also goes with there’s a lot more to be accomplished on the court and again I can’t fast forward to what the end is going to be. Enjoy the moment, enjoy the challenges that we have in front of us and what I have left to accomplish as a player.”
Curry is currently entering his 12th NBA season, and the 32-year-old hopes that he still has plenty of playing days ahead of him.
“You can’t predict the future,” he said.
“I’ve always said I want to play as long as I can play at the level I want to be at and hopefully you can be in that position where you end it on your own terms. Whatever that means, hopefully that is closer to 40.”
Three years ago Curry signed a five-year, $201 million contract with the Warriors. Now he is eligible to sign a three-year, $156 million max extension that would start in 2022-23.
Although Curry acknowledged that conversations about an extension have taken place between him and the franchise, he refused to elaborate beyond that.
“Everything’s on the table right now,” he said. “… It’s a matter of just letting things kind of play out the way that they should. That’s kind of where we’re at right now.”

Curry also revealed that he was happy with the moves his front office made this offseason.
“From what we have now, I love where we’re at,” he said.
Will Curry end up retiring with the Warriors? Time will tell.
