Montrezl Harrell’s Brutal Message For Joel Embiid (Video)

Montrezl Harrell’s Brutal Message For Joel Embiid (Video)

The Philadelphia 76ers blew out the Washington Wizards 117-96 on Sunday.

With the victory Philly improved to 17-16 while Washington fell to 17-16.

One of the more memorable encounters that occurred in this otherwise forgettable affair happened with three minutes remaining in the third quarter.

The issue seemed to originate with Joel Embiid checking Montrezl Harrell, who dropped to the ground. There was no whistle, so Embiid continued to move towards the basket – only to get fouled hard by Harrell.

That’s when things popped off:

As Harrell got tossed, Embiid mockingly waved at him.

After the game, Harrell had some words for Embiid.

“He got an and-one, he want to yell in my face and stuff like that, I pushed him out my face,” Harrell said.

“‘He was the one to step back and point, ‘Oh, oh, I got pushed!’ Stand on your toughness,’ Harrell said. ‘If you’re so tough, stand on that, my dude. Don’t start nitpicking and pointing and wanting to do the telling when the ref walk in, my guy. Stand on that. I am, I got tossed, it is what it is. I wish it wouldn’t have been in the situation that it was in, but I don’t regret it.’”

Harrell is obviously something of a prickly character. He routinely puts everyone on blast.

The Los Angeles Lakers get called out. The Wizards get called out. Nobody is safe from Harrell’s wrath.

There’s a reason Harrell was one of the few Lakers players not invited to Anthony Davis’ wedding. He’s a tough guy to get along with sometimes.

That said, is he the one to blame for what happened with Embiid? Opinions will vary.
