Why Montrezl Harrell Wasn’t Invited To Anthony Davis’ Wedding

Montrezl Harrell was one of several players traded by the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason to the Washington Wizards. It appears there is no love lost between the 27-year-old and his former teammates.

It was something of an open secret that one of Harrell’s teammates, Dennis Schroder, was widely despised by the other Lakers. But it would appear he faced a similar problem.

This past weekend Anthony Davis got married. Many teammates, past and present, were in attendance.

One notable omission?

Harrell.

When confronted about this, Harrell explained why he didn’t score an invitation.

“Nah bruh don’t like me like that,” he told NBA insider Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson.

Interestingly enough, while Davis has been very open about one Laker he hated playing with last year – he has been oddly quiet when it comes to Harrell.

Harrell joined the Lakers with a lot of hype surrounding the move, but ultimately the relationship never quite worked. He routinely bashed the organization and now seems genuinely salty about how everything went down.

This past year Harrell averaged 13.5 points and 6.2 rebounds on 62.2 percent shooting – a noticeably worse showing than the one that earned him Sixth Man of the Year honors with the LA Clippers just one year earlier.

If he ultimately bounces back with the Wizards and returns to that SMOY form, then clearly the Lakers were the problem. If he doesn’t, though – then it’ll probably be time for a little introspection regarding what the problem with his career truly is.
