Stephen Curry’s Mom Sonya Causes A Stir At Warriors Game (Video)
Stephen Curry’s mom Sonya was on hand this week as the Golden State Warriors faced off against the Phoenix Suns.
Late in the outing JaMychal Green got into a bit of a confrontation with Damion Lee over a foul.
Normally Sonya would defend a Warriors player above all others, but Lee just so happens to be her daughter Sydel’s husband.
That led to something of an interesting reaction from her.

After the game, Steph explained what happened with his mom on that particular sequence.
“Like old school AAU back in the day where parents get involved.”

“That was like old-school AAU back in the day where parents get involved,” he said.
“JaMychal and D-Lee had their moment. I gave her my tickets tonight so she had to be with the Warriors but she was gonna switch sides to protect her son-in-law. That’s what it was all about. Just some good, fun back-and-forth. Family over everything at times.”
Recent drama aside, Sonya is obviously no stranger to going viral in her own right. Between her and her new boyfriend generating headlines at a recent game, the wild details of her divorce from Steph’s dad Dell, and her confession about almost not having Steph, it has been one thing after another.

In some ways, it comes with the territory.
As the Warriors gear up for a deep playoff run in an effort to win a second consecutive championship, Sonya will likely continue to be a prominent fixture at games. What will she ultimately go viral for next? Time will tell.
