Recently, Steph’s mother Sonya admitted that she legitimately contemplated having an abortion when she became pregnant with him.
“There could be no Stephen,” she said in a recent interview.

“If I would’ve gone through that, there would’ve been no Wardell Stephen Curry the second. You know, God had a plan for that child, and, just the spirit interceding at that moment, in a way that I didn’t even know at the moment was happening… just spoke to again the purpose of faith.”
This obviously isn’t the first time Sonya has made headlines over the past year.
Her highly-publicized divorce from husband Dell also emerged as a massive viral story. Everything from the reason for it to Steph and Ayesha’s roles in it were in the news nonstop.

Time will tell how this most recent confession by Sonya will strike people.
But it appears for now, she doesn’t care all that much.
Sonya is just telling her truth, regardless of consequences or public fallout.
