Real Reason Thunder Let Josh Giddey Play Despite Scandal
Real Reason Thunder Let Josh Giddey Play Despite Scandal
The Oklahoma City Thunder let Josh Giddey play in their game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.
Why is this notable? Because Giddey is currently facing troubling allegations that he was dating a high schooler. Numerous unfortunate videos and photos have emerged since the claims were first made – complicating matters even further.
Not long after the accusations came out, some of Giddey’s Thunder teammates began scrubbing their tweets about him.
In the midst of all that, though – Oklahoma City decided to let Giddey play against Philly. He wound up recording 10 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds in 26 minutes of play.
Right around the same time he was balling out on the court, a report surfaced suggesting that Giddey was linked to a second high schooler.
So why did the Thunder let Giddey play despite the troublesome imagery that has come out in the past 72 hours?
Social media detectives have some theories:
Kyrie losing a shoe deal for posting a link out of context
Ja morant got suspend 25 games for posting a gun on Instagram liveBut Josh Giddey gets to play while in the middle of sexual acts with someone under age and it’s not being talked about on espn ? Lmao ok https://t.co/ih3t7sjAOj

I’ll never forget they had ja morant doing a gale king sit down interview with Jalen rose after the Instagram live gun situation but Josh Giddey got to tell the media “ no comment at this time “ and still play in games lmao pic.twitter.com/UwBjxFj5gT

The likeliest answer? Most likely Thunder brass doesn’t want to act without getting all the facts. Already, a video has surfaced that some suggest exonerates Giddey.
It is still possible that the whole story regarding him and the young woman in question hasn’t come out.

And based on how slow the Thunder have been to react to this matter, there is reason to believe that they have information the rest of the public doesn’t.
Either way, this is shaping up to be a huge week for Giddey and the Thunder. Either their prudence regarding their young star will be rewarded, or it will go down as one of the most ill-advised decisions in NBA history.
