LeBron James’ Surprising Snack Choice At Summer League Goes Viral
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is a billionaire. Most rightfully attribute that financial status to his business shrewdness.
The 37-year-old has an incredible investment portfolio and has been at the center of countless successful ventures.
That said, James is also notoriously frugal. His unique tipping practices and means of money-saving have been a hot topic of conversation for many years now. Dwyane Wade literally called him the cheapest player in the NBA at one point.
This week eagle-eyed fans couldn’t help but notice the snack that James brought to summer league. It really reinforced some notions in regards to how he does things.
The visual largely speaks for itself:

Understandably, with the way social media is these days, reactions to James’ choice poured in right away:
you guys think a guy spending $2m per year on his body and conditioning is gonna be snacking on the same arena food regular people buy? https://t.co/vGdfBq9CkQ

Sometimes food from home is better and trustworthy in taste . Never forget the legend Dirk Nowitzki brought in leftover plates to games https://t.co/CiM4BnVykG pic.twitter.com/nMgF7TjXm1

Taking a firm stance here, this shirt would not be sold at Dan Flashes. No overlapping lines. Simple pattern. Not complicated.
Lebron, a billionaire, could afford something super complicated. This ain’t it. https://t.co/fb20PM5PR2

Fighting the urge to prove your ability to consume is an asset. Broke and wealthy can look shockingly similar. Save money whether you have it or not. https://t.co/8ToxeynkzM

Snacks aside, this is going to be a big offseason for James and the Lakers. All parties involved are currently neck deep in trying to get a trade done for disgruntled Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving.
A general framework for a prospective deal has emerged over the past week, but there are some hold-ups. Namely, two players are serving as roadblocks.
The San Antonio Spurs could help expedite things, though it’s unclear if they will at this juncture.
James badly wants Irving, clearly. The two are even staging secret meetings together. But this is outside of his control.
No wonder Zach Wilson is so close with his mom. https://t.co/BoX6ZacIKf

For now, the big news about James nowadays is what he is eating as a snack. If L.A. can acquire Irving, though – all conversations will turn into ones about whether the Lakers can contend for a title in 2022-23.
Stay tuned. It promises to be an exciting next few weeks in purple and gold land.
