Josh Giddey’s Family Makes Damning Liv Cook Accusation

Josh Giddey’s family spoke out this week regarding the allegations surrounding him and high schooler Liv Cook.

Last week, the Oklahoma City Thunder star found himself in the headlines after photos and videos came out suggesting he was involved with a minor. Shortly thereafter, he was briefly linked to a second high schooler.

In the days since, Giddey and those around him have remained relatively quiet. Aside from his Thunder teammates deleting their old problematic tweets with him and a fan attempting to exonerate him with a club video seemingly showing one of the minors involved, nobody has said much of anything.

That changed this week, though.

According to the Daily Mail, Giddey’s family believes he was tricked by Cook.

“Sources close to the star’s family say they believe he has been ‘stitched up’ after claims the 21-year old had an inappropriate relationship with an underage girl first surfaced on social media,” the report read.

Moreover, Giddey’s family is continuing to stand by him.

“While the Giddey clan has refused to publicly comment on the scandal involving Josh, sources close to them have told Daily Mail Australia they are fully supporting him in his time of need,” the report added.

“’They are the most down-to-earth people you could meet. They’re very humble,” a source told the Daily Mail of the Giddey family.

“Josh is a good kid and knowing the family, I thought there’s something more to this because he’s not like that. The consensus is he’s been royally stitched up.”

It will be interesting to see where things go from here. An investigation is ongoing, both on the NBA’s part and local Newport Beach police.

Whether anything comes of either one remains to be seen, particularly given how Cook’s parents are reportedly choosing to handle the situation.

So far, this scandal hasn’t really derailed Oklahoma City’s season.

The Thunder are still 11-6 and sit fourth in the Western Conference.

What sort of resolution will ultimately be reached, and how will it impact both Giddey and Cook? Time will tell.
