2 Strong Suitors Emerge For Cavaliers’ Collin Sexton
Collin Sexton’s future is very much up in the air right now.
The Cleveland Cavaliers tried to move him repeatedly last season to no avail. Then he got hurt and everything fell apart.
Between his crazy crazy demands for the organization, the front office’s apparent dislike of him, and his frequent clashes with his teammates, it seems like a foregone conclusion that Sexton will be somewhere other than Cleveland in 2022-23.
But where?
According to NBA insider Evan Dammarell, at one point there were five strong suitors for Sexton’s services. Now that number has dwindled to roughly two.
“Prior to the NBA Draft, league sources said shared with Right Down Euclid that the Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, Washington Wizards, New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs were all interested in acquiring Sexton,” he wrote.
“But, after the draft, those same sources said that the Pistons and Pacers have cooled on their pursuit of Sexton, shifting their focus to Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges.
“But, when it comes to the Wizards and Spurs, all … remain interested in acquiring Sexton to varying degrees depending on how free agency goes for them the same source said.”
It’s safe to assume that the Knicks are likely out of the sweepstakes for Sexton as well now that they’ve given Jalen Brunson $104 million over four years.
Sexton was also linked to the Los Angeles Lakers, but one major roadblock exists that could prevent anything from materializing on that front.

The entire league is currently in a state of flux because of the Kevin Durant situation. But once he finds a new home, more dominos will drop.
And inevitably, Sexton will be one of those dominos.
