Karl-Anthony Towns’ 1st Move As A Member Of Knicks
Karl-Anthony Towns’ 1st Move As A Member Of Knicks
Karl-Anthony Towns was traded to the New York Knicks last week in what was inarguably the biggest NBA trade of the summer.
While the Minnesota Timberwolves got back Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo and a first-round pick in the exchange, trading an All-Star of Towns’ caliber understandably raised a lot of eyebrows.
Wolves star Anthony Edwards, specifically, had a very strong reaction to the move.
It didn’t take long for the real reason behind Minnesota’s decision to unload Towns to reveal itself.
This week, Towns spoke to the media and revealed the first thing he did as a member of the Knicks.
“First thing I did,” Towns said.
“I walked up to Jalen [Brunson] and introduced myself. Said that my name was Karl. I know that was a struggle for him. It’s not my home. It’s our home. These guys have done something special.”

Towns then followed up that admission by sending a message to all the team’s fans: “Hey Knicks fans, let’s get to work. See you at The Garden!”
It will be interesting to see how this trade works out for all parties involved.
ESPN insider Brian Windhorst had a particularly fascinating take on who won the exchange.
Will Towns make the Timberwolves rue the day they quit on him? Time will tell.
