Anthony Edwards’ Blunt Reaction To Karl-Anthony Towns Trade

Anthony Edwards was the star and face of the Minnesota Timberwolves last year.

While Karl-Anthony Towns was once regarded as the franchise’s marquee player, he was supplanted in that role by Edwards during the 2023-24 NBA season.

By all accounts, everyone involved expected more of the same during the 2024-25 NBA season.

Because of Towns’ hefty contract, Minnesota made the difficult decision to trade him to the New York Knicks last week.

Towns’ blunt reaction to the move spoke for itself.

On Wednesday, Edwards offered his thoughts on the situation.

“I think everybody knows KAT my brother so that definitely hurt,” Edwards said.

“It’s a business. I just gotta roll with it. I’m ready to get to know them [Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo] and try to get it figured out as fast as we can because we trying to get back to where we was and go even farther.”

Edwards’ understanding regarding the business side of basketball is going to be crucial for all parties involved moving forward.

Last year, the Timberwolves made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals. Will Edwards be able to guide them back there during the 2024-25 NBA season? Time will tell.
