Allen Iverson Gets Brutally Honest About Trae Young’s Flaws

Allen Iverson is widely regarded as one of the greatest NBA players of all time. The fact that he was able to do what he did throughout his career, despite his small stature, remains one of the most impressive feats in sports history.

A modern-day player who is similarly capable of doing incredible things on the basketball court despite being relatively small is Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young.

This past week, Iverson sat down with Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report for an in-depth interview.

One of the topics he broached was Young’s game.

“I don’t see no flaws in his game at all,” Iverson said.

That’s quote the lofty praise.

Young had a fascinating 2020-21 campaign. It started in extremely dysfunctional fashion and featured his teammates publicly bashing him and Brooklyn Nets head coach Steve Nash angrily criticizing him. Then, inexplicably, it ended with him savagely roasting the New York Knicks and leading his squad into the Eastern Conference Finals. That is a sharp reversal of fortunes.

Iverson has never been one to bite his tongue. Whether he is settling the LeBron vs. MJ debate once and for all or revealing the two players who gave him the most problems in his career – he generally keeps it pretty real. So if he is heaping this sort of praise on Young, you know he means it.
